Naomi Yamamoto has been the president and owner of Tora Design Group in North Vancouver for 21 years. For the past 2 years she has been with the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce as its President and General Manager.
In 1994 she served as Chair of the BC Chamber of Commerce. She completed a six year term on the board of Capilano College, the last three years as Chair. She also enjoyed 6 years as a director of the North Shore Neighbourhood House.
Naomi has served on the boards of the North Shore Credit Union and the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. Naomi is the President of the Gordon and Marion Smith Foundation, the goal of which is to build an endowment to ensure the ongoing viability of the Artists for Kids Program in School District 44. She currently represents the North Vancouver Chamber on the North Shore 2010 Spirit Committee and Vancouver’s North Shore Tourism Association Board.
In 2005, Naomi was appointed as an inaugural member of the Premier’s Small Business Roundtable.
When she's not attending board and committee meetings, Naomi can be found with a fishing rod in hand, heading to rivers to experience the thrill of catching (and releasing) the prized Steelhead. She keeps fit by running the trails of the North Shore with a group of dedicated runners known as the North Shore Lemmings.
